I'm Melissa Strout, and I currently work in the College of Education and Human Development at Lamar University located in Beaumont, Texas. 

My career and life have taken me in many directions. Like most post-grad students, one of the many reasons why I decided to pursue graduate school was to gain more knowledge and sharpen my professional skill set to stand out as a leader. 

As a mother of three children, I am someone important. Their natural interest for knowledge has motivated me to continue on this quest of a higher education. I want my children to see me as being strong, intelligent, and hardworking. 

My purpose is to help others identify, develop, and use their God-given innate abilities. To lead, teach and inspire others to apply timeless principles that produce life-changing results.  Most importantly, I will take action to improve and grow on a continual basis so I’ll never be out-of-date. I’m never too smart or too educated to know enough.

I will enjoy every moment along this journey called life finding laughter, love, and happiness with each day that passes.
