Reflective Learning (Contribution to my Learning)

EDLD-5315

Score: 90

As I gathered what I have learned over the past 5 weeks, I am reminded of Sinek (2013) TedTalk speech to start with why. I believe the greatest impact happens young. The former generations are the leaders of the latter generations, and we have a responsibility to equipthem with moral examples that reflect love in how they live, lead, and learn.

While thinking with the end in mind, the question “why online learning” at some point will become a topic of discussion for all organizations.  According to statistics, at least 50% of high schools nationwide will most likely be online by 2019. The growth rate continues to climb to unprecedented numbers since 2007.  Nagel (2008) Online learning will afford volunteer teachers the flexibility to learn at their own pace and strengthen their gifts and talents using innovative approaches learned from others.

Assessing Digital Learning Instruction

As I reflect on my why as well as my fundamental research question in this session, I believe the greatest impact happens young and I have a responsibility to equip the next generation in living their fullest potential, making decisions that are moral and ethical. Instructional strategies based on research can help guide curriculum decisions and best practices in the classroom.

Personal Learning Networks

I have loved networking with other educators to get more involved with this whole process. I have connected with classmates in a Facebook group chat as well as a GroupMe chat where we have been communicating from the very beginning. A few of our group members include Claudia Rios, Sabine Mixon, Nadin Noman, and Vickey Espejo. We always help each other and share our ideas. It’s been the best way to feel more comfortable in this new adventure of M.Ed. In these communities, I took leadership by answering questions and provided peer feedback.

No matter how difficult, frustrating, or unaccomplished it may seem, keep moving and finish the course. Improvements will always follow next because there will never be a perfect result. Practice is what makes perfect improvements. Not every course is for everybody, but every course will help somebody.

In conclusion, throughout this session, I was able to attend zoom conferences and those that I did not make, I viewed them when posted. I also contributed to and provided feedback on classroom discussions. Course readings and videos were all viewed, and learning did occur. All assignments were completed and submitted as directed. I would evaluate myself and give a score of 90.
